Concert Photography

Throughout my time as a photographer with The Rocky Mountain Collegian, I have applied and received press passes for over 60 artists performing in Colorado at venues and music festivals. My interest in concert photography grew initially when starting school at CSU, and has since allowed me to capture photographs of some of the largest artists in today’s media.

Concert photography has been therapeutic to me. I view it as a challenge to improve my skills over time. To prepare, I watch live performances online prior to taking photos in order to anticipate artist movement, determine whether artists are left or right handed and to pick out the best places to be when they start performing. Getting those once-in-a-lifetime photos sends my adrenaline rushing and extremely gratifying.
